What is RPE?

RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) is a 1-10 scale measuring how hard a set feels. It's based on Reps in Reserve (RIR) - how many more reps you could have done. For example, RPE 8 means you stopped with 2 reps left before failure.

55 RIR - Very light - could do many more reps
64 RIR - Light - warming up or technique work
73 RIR - Moderate - starting to feel challenged
82 RIR - Hard - solid working sets
91 RIR - Very hard - one rep short of failure
100 RIR - Maximum - nothing left in the tank
